Police Officer starting salary is $61,020, based on 42-hour schedule.
Up to 5% for language skills in a desirable language.
Non-Certified: $1,500 sign-on bonus ($750 upon completion of field training program and $750 after one year of employment)
Certified: $3,000 sign-on bonus ($1,500 upon completion of field training program, and $1,500 after one year of employment)
After One Year - Potential for promotion to Master Police Officer with a 5% raise based on acceptable job performance and passing a written exam

Duluth Police officers assigned to patrol will work 12-hour rotating shifts between day and night shift with every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.

457b/457 Roth employee contributions, plus 401a city match up to 2%. The vesting on the 401a match is at 5 years of service.
Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) Retirement - The city funds this pension account, vesting is at 5 years of service.
POAB Retirement - The city pays all membership fees.
